Thanks!
Yeah, took me about an hr per 5 gal bucket and there were 10-12 buckets that were mixed. Got lucky and some buckets I had were all one caliber.
Finally finished sorting brass...finally!!! Those are 20 gal storage containers and 5 gal buckets, just to put it into perspective! .260 Rem on left, .308 in middle and 6.5 CM on right.
Ended up making a little rectangular "box" out of wood that I stand the brass up in. This allows me to see the larger opening for the .308 and I pull them out first. Then I can go by height and pull the slightly taller .260 brass second. Then one final check to be sure what's left is all the...
I have found myself in possession of quite a few thousand rounds of .308, 6.5 CM and .260 Rem all mixed up. I want to sort it out so I can sell it here for guys to use for reloading but it’s almost a task too intimidating of a pile to tackle. Anyone know of a sorter that could be used to...
So, I've had a Remington 700 chambered in 7mm Rem Mag sitting in the back of my safe, untouched, for about 8 years now. It's one of the good ones manufactured in '77. Was my dad's and he gave it to me in mid 80's. I hunted with it for about 14yrs and put it down for something more enjoyable...
Heard back from RCBS and they said not to store it in temps below 40F. Said it could damage the load cell. Guess I'll be keeping it inside during the winters from now on.
I could definitely see temp effecting the performance of little steel springs and sure its the most repeatable in a climate controlled environment that is always the same temp at each use. I could bring it into the house every time I wanna load brass, but would be more convenient to have it...
I saw where is said not to use it in cold temps. Anybody got a clue what they consider cold? I reload, and planned on storing this, in my utility room which is not insulated nor is it heated/cooled by my AC unit. Don't wanna damage it by allowing it to get too cold out there in the winter or get...
Taking these pointers in to account and using the straw trick (since I'm loading with 4895), I have loaded about 100 rounds using it now and I really enjoy it so far.
