    Hi there, I highly suggest going to an outfitter, one of the best for footwear is Outdoor76, they have a location in Clayton GA, and Franklin NC. I'd also suggest starting with walking instead of running. Running is pretty rough on your joints.

    Try SOLE insoles. They are heated first then you walk on them for a little to mold it according to your foot. They are about $60.

    Why not? That's where all the fun is. Resort is to dump your bags, eat and drink and go out explore new stuff. We stayed at I think Riu Palace which was about 45minutes to an hour south of Cancun, very close to multiple mayan ruins, cenotes and the great outdoors.
