    If you bow hunt, go to Cohutta WMA. Find a good white oak that is dropping acorns and has bear sign around it. Hunting in the evenings are better for seeing bears. Good luck and have about 7-8 friends on standby in case you kill a biggun.

    I got turned around in Cohutta Wilderness years ago on a bow hunt. I got back to camp at 1:30am. I dropped off the wrong finger coming down a ridge and the rest is history.

    If you hunt in the mountains you better have a lot of friends with you if you kill a biggun. Other than that good luck. Oh yea, evening hunts in the mountains seem better than mornings.

    Remington 700 7mm-08. No, not supported. Just got through mowing grass, neighbor called, ran in and got rifle, ran up hill to his house 125 yards and rested on the column of his house standing up. I would have been lucky to hit the side of the barn. LMAO

    I wish they would extend the end of the season on national forest lands to Jan 14 also. It sucks that it closes on Dec 26. IMHO.
