Another great hunt on public land. This was actually an "accident bird" for me. I was calling one in for my brother in law. The bird I was calling was gobbling like crazy but no moving much. After about 10 minutes of this, 2 more birds sounded off below us. I moved about 25 yards from my brother in law and faced the direction they were in. His bird started coming in also from the other direction. As luck would have it mine got to me first. BOOM. He was 20lbs, 10 inch beard 3/4 inch spurs. A real nice 2 year old. 45 minutes later I called in another bird for him but he missed it. We didn't hear one bird on the roost, but after fly down they tore it up. We heard at least 200 actual gobbles, had 2 set ups where two birds came in from 2 different directions and actually worked 7 different birds. This was definitely an epic public land hunt.
