I'm new to loading shotshell as well. Something I just ran into myself, is I thought I was having light firing pin strikes and needed to replace the hammer spring on my Benelli clone. No failures to fire, they just looked light. Turns out I'm using wolf 209 primers, and they just happen to be...
HK's are roller delayed, I know CMMG has the radial delayed system. I got the system in 45 acp to play with. You will definately get higher velocities with the bolt closed longer, but with the radial delayed system, it shouldn't make the loads less safe so to speak and have higher pressures...
Watch slickguns for deals on powder and primers. A couple weeks ago I picked up 3 lb of powder and 1000 primers from Brownells with free Hazmat and zero shipping.
I have the Lyman and bought the drill adapter for it (midway has the "kit" on sale for $86). I used it to trim 1K 9mm cases down to 9x18 so I could reload them for my Makarov. Works great.
I didn't order the parts my buddy did and danged if I can see where anybody is offering modified parts on google. There is a couple sources of info you have probably already seen http://www.mikesreloadingbench.com/ is one dedicated to get this machine running right. This guy seems to be an...
The Lee loadmaster seems to have a cult following, some guys just love it and swear by it though they have to use workarounds like priming by hand or on another press. Others hate it. I've been reloading for quite a while and went over to a buddys house to set up his new loadmaster. 4 hrs...
You'll love the upgrade to a 650. I went over to my buddies house to help setup his Lee 1000, left 6 hrs later and the primer system still didn't work right. What a piece of crap, out of the box it wasn't indexed right and we had to adjust it. He said he found aftermarket parts online that...
I use a Lyman case trimmer that I've put a power attachment on. I already had the trimmer so I just got the power attachment. There are probably, a dozen YouTube videos on the process and this conversion for the 9x18. I've shot my reloads out of a Polish p64, and a CZ 82 with no issues.
So far I've converted about 1000 cases and fired at least 300, it's easier than you think. As soon as you expand the case mouth and seat the bullet it's no longer tapered (the case). After firing it looks like any other 9x18 case, the rest of the dimensions are the same or so close to it that...
I don't see how it would be worth it. My time is worth more than that. How do you like powder coating the bullets? The only bullets I shoot that I cast myself are for my Martini Henry and my Trapdoor.
I know this is an old post, but I just helped a buddy set up his Dillon 550b last week. He'd never reloaded before, and had the powder dispensor setup before I got there. We spent 15 min. setting up his bullet seating and crimp die and I left after we loaded a couple good rounds. 30 minutes...
A buddy of mine bought the Pro 1000 and had nothing but problems with it. The primer feed issues are well known, in fact there are people making money selling after market mods for it. Good luck with it.....
Here you go http://www.xdtalk.com/threads/45-acp-super-heavy-load-300-grain-lfngc.239499/
copy and pasted from the link above, I'd go there and read all the comments.
Interested for a while in heavies and ordered the 2006 handloaders mag with the super heavy 45 acp loads article for a...
Went to the range yesterday with RamRoddoc, I wanted to compare our chronographs since he has the one your interested in and I have the Master Chrono model http://www.amazon.com/Shooting-Chrony-7000099-F1-Chronograph/dp/B001R6B06E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418374192&sr=8-2&keywords=f1+chrony...
Very true. I had $170 to spend on ammo and I planned on buying 500 rnds of 9x18 Makarov ammo. Instead of loaded rnds, I bought a set of Lee dies, 100 cases, (which I shouldn't have bought) and 1,500 bullets from Grafs. I trim range pick up 9mm brass for my Mak my ammo cost is pretty low.
Show whoever you bought them from and ask them if they are trying to kill you. They aren't leaving much room for error there. This is exactly why everyone needs to shoot a few rounds of every new load and look for since of pressure on the cases.
