Looking to get a hand crank case trimmer to replace my others that you can turn by hand or chuck in a drill The small ****ty ones...)

These are the 3 I am looking at. Just wanting your feedback on them.

As info, I have a Lee shell holder set, and also RCBS shell holders for my RCBS press for the ones that take them.

I have the RCBS one, but a different model. What do you want to know?

It works but it's slow. I've been thinking of picking up the drill mounted one that sizes, chamfers and collects the shavings.

How easy it it to get it adjusted from caliber/cartridge to caliber/cartridge?

Does the spring loaded she'll holder work well?

Any quirks you just don't like?

Things you do like?

I too want the all in one style as well, but don't want to spend the cash for it at the moment unless it was a great deal.

I looked at all 3 this past weekend, and I kind of favor the Hornady one, but still not sure.

Get the Lyman universal with carbide trimmer. You can also buy the drill attachment and go faster. The cheaper Lyman is plastic and it's garbage. Make sure you get the metal one. Mine is solid and smooth!

Mine has a twist handle to hold the shell, it works fine. The what hamacallit on the cutting end lines it up.

It's messy. Shavings everywhere.

It's the only one I've ever used, so I'm probably not the one to ask since I don't have anything else to compare it to.

I hate that I have to do the chamfer and deburr afterwords.

Since most of what I load is 5.56, I would only buy the power tool for that.

I use the orange lyman, shell holder works great. Adjustment fairly straight forward. I have the hand crank and the adapter for drill, I use the drill more on 7.62 and 5.56. Like said before don't buy the plastic one go with metal. You do need to debur after trimming.

They are all slow and tedious.

If you don't shoot a lot of rifle ammo then fine for doing batches of a 100 or so.

It you want to reload a 1000 at a time of a particular caliber, for $98 then this is one smart tool, Giraud Tri Way Trimmer:

That's the one I was thinking about.
