****. I've read where thieves have already starting getting their hands on the aluminum body trucks.
There was an f150 theft ring in Atlanta back in 2014 or 15. And unrelated to that, they constantly catch the Mexicans stealing super duties for cartel use.
I don't get how Fords are getting...
The Concorde was very expensive to maintain, and it was a joint venture by British Airways and Air France. In the early 2000's, British Airways wanted to keep the fleet going, but Air France started backing out. Air travel took a hit after 9/11 and it wasn't cost effective to keep the fleet...
...because Air France and British Airways are lazy and decommissioned them all, I'll just have to dream about this. If I ever hit Trump status, I'm getting one.
I'm also drooling over the TriStar (L1011) style engine setup.
I prefer the F150's. They have their little quirks (little rattles, ticks, etc.) but have always been reliable for me. My 2016 hasn't exactly wowed me, but it hasn't disappointed either. It's fast as hell for a full size truck, gets decent gas mileage for a V8 (around 17+ mpg driving around...
I wouldn't bother with any Ford truck 09-10. The 3V 4.6's were junk, the 3V 5.4's were junk, the 6.4 powerstrokes were junk (6.4 dates back to 08), the 6 spd autos in the 1/2 tons had tons of bugs. Any half ton 04-08 with the 2V 4.6 was solid. Any 6.0 from 03-07 can be bulletproofed...
How many miles on the engine? Ford lifters love to tick after about 125k-150k, especially when engine temp is cold. Happened in every 4.6/5.4 I've owned. Solid engines, they just get "louder" over time. Mine seemed to go away with decent full synthetic oil.
I would get it diagnosed, but...
Must have the xl crappy interior with the 2.7. My 5.0 can tow an enclosed 16 footer like it's not even there. The only way I know it's there is if the trailer is empty or I look at my mpg reading.
Excessive idling is certainly not good, but per one of the Chevy techs at Autonation, fleet vehicles see hours upon hours of idle time and idling for 1 hour does about as much wear to an engine as 20 to 30 miles of driving.
So... a number of articles out there now state warming your vehicle before driving is bad because modern engines compensate for colder temps by adding extra fuel to the mixture, which will in turn dilute your oil and add wear and tear to the cylinders, cylinder walls, rings, etc. by idling for...
The guy at MOG ford said $2,000 for the tailgate, light, camera, locking mech, and paint. I'm not sure he new what he was talking about, but he did say mexicans are stealing them like crazy if you don't lock the truck (tailgate locks with the truck).
