  2. So. It turns out I can ride the thing...

And again- thanks so much for the attaboys and advice. I am so amazed by the support (here and otherwise) within the biking community... Just WOW. Thank you!!! ;);)
  3. So. It turns out I can ride the thing...

Thanks guys! I rode it again yesterday- maybe another 50 miles or so. Had to stop short at one point... Got to deep into the front brake and tipped her over. :( killed it, threw down the kick stand and ran around and got it back over. I had one little old lady watching the whole thing. I waved...
  4. So. It turns out I can ride the thing...

So here's the deal. Turns out I may actually be able to ride the damn thing. See the story here: http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/bought-the-wrong-bike-give-me-some-advice-on-a-new-one.890488/ Holy ****. Took my very first ride on it (as in- on ANY motorcycle on the road... ever). I...
  5. Honestly, who would buy a Ducati?

Thanks- it's okay... It's been like 9 years. We were super duper close. The point is that he and the other passenger would have lived with their seat belts... The two with their seat belts on are still living. Of course he could have been hit by a mail truck the next day too. Never know.
  6. Honestly, who would buy a Ducati?

Exactly. My 17 year old brother was killed in a SUV as a passenger on the way home from band camp in broad day light. He wasn't wearing his seat belt. So perhaps we shouldn't drive SUV's either. The reality is that everything has a risk. However, there are a slew of choices that can be...

  8. Honestly, who would buy a Ducati?

I totally and completely agree with this. I learned this lesson the hard way. You know what happened? I kinda just gave up... Gained a ****-ton of weight and was generally miserable in my own head and skin. Oh- and my family and I looked June Clever happy to everyone else. If making those...
  9. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

I had a couple of friends in my ears and very loud about ATGATT... I had my jacket, gloves, boots, and helmet before I even took my MSF... lol. And now I have pants too... I just need my effing bike ;) hahaha
  10. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

Feel free to take a look at my ad in the trader section and tell me what you think of what I am asking- I will take all the help I can get. And I will definitely let you know once I get a handle on what I am after... thank you so much!!! Exactly... I feel like I am arm wrestling Jabba the...
  11. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

That's what I am hoping for... A fair trade would be awesome.
  12. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

Pretty much, yes. It was a friends bike and I liked how it looked and I was ignorant and naive which pretty much is the end result when drunk. So... Yup.
  13. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

I've never heard of it! (although that's a relatively easy accomplishment with my limited experience) I will definitely look it up and research it. Sounds right up my alley- thank you! I know, I know... who woulda thunk that a woman would ever ever want something smaller between her legs? Guess...
  14. Bought the wrong bike... Give me some advice on a new one.

So I bought a Honda VTX 1800... Stupid stupid stupid. I am a brand spanking new rider, I have passed my MSF, but that is the only experience I have. So the 1800 is just way to big for me (I've currently got it listed on the trading post). I can sit on it and hold it fine- but I want something a...
