  1. High Prices? Stupid Prices?

You gotta live a little...I'm all for investing and early retirement. But I also own a bunch of toys. As long as I am not broke from any of my hobbies...I count it as win.
  2. MUFFLER POLE!

I am currently running a Flowmaster 70 series on my truck...no cat, single 3" pipe. I had a 50 series...just too loud. Rattled the cab of the truck badly. The 70 is super quiet when running down the road...but step on it and it sounds like any other FM muffler, just not as raspy as smaller ones.
  3. Need Some All-Terrain Tire Opinions

Got the Cooper AT3's on my old Chevy. From riding in it, you'd never know that it had AT's on it at all. Very quiet with great road manners. I hear they do well off road, but I have never had a chance to test them on more than a gravel road.
  4. Pirellis?

The P7's are one of my favorite tires. I will be installing a set on my daughter's car this summer, and the next set for my wife's CX-5 will be that tire as well. Too bad they don't make them in the 20" size I need for my car...:pout:
  5. V45 Honda Sabre 1983

Yep, definitely an Interceptor. The low chin fairing is a dead giveaway. One of my buddies had a V45 Sabre from that era...damned smooth running bike.
  6. Found an old used Trojan in my basement

Not exactly what I was expecting...but glad to be disappointed!
  7. Land Rover

I've seen 1 reliable Rover...And it had close to 400k miles on it. It was owned by an ASE certified Master tech... Sent from my XT1254
  8. Clymer manuals etc....

Believe it or not, I have the 3 or 4 FSM's for my 1969 Cutlass. The mechanical one looks exactly like you described from my countless hours of working on it. Best of luck with this chore...yeah, Honda...simple...nothing is simple on any Honda. Never seen anyone route accessory belts the way...
  9. Clymer manuals etc....

Good to know I am not the only one who has been called that...
  10. Clymer manuals etc....

That sounds familiar...there was another one, but I can't remember the name of it. Probably went the way of Napster by now...getting printed material for free probably violates some kind of copyright law.
  11. Clymer manuals etc....

Factory service manual (FSM) is the best if you can find one. There used to be a site that had a ton of FSM's scanned to PDF, but don't know if it is still around.
  12. Need Ford 9 inch diff rebuilt

I dunno about expensive, but they built the Chevy 12-bolt I put in my Cutlass. I would say they are about par for the course on diff rebuilds.
  13. Harley riders beware of killer creek

I highly doubt it...his kids are rolling in the money for where they sold the dealership to the new group that's running it. Never met the man...but wherever he is, I bet he is laughing his ass off about now...
  14. Sheepskin Chamois

I just use a silicon squeegee and a clean microfiber towel. :noidea:
  15. Let's talk axle ratios

Nope...4-speed IIRC with a decent OD. But it was a 1999...with the ****ty transmission linings that screwed up the servos and torque converter. My transmission was shot at 19K miles...and I never even went to the track with it. It was the first and probably the last Dodge I will own. Gave...
  16. Let's talk axle ratios

I've got 3.55's in my 1969 Cutlass (in a Chevy 12-bolt), but they are too weak for a truck IMO. As already stated, with an OD transmission, 3.92's are very streetable. My stock Dakota R/T had 3.92's, and the revs were nothing at all in overdrive. Gas mileage sucked...but man that truck was QUICK.
  17. What's in your garage under restoration?

Yep...absolutely correct. And the reason why I decided not to drop a big block in my convertible. The body already has some small stress cracks in the body seams right behind the doors. No upper support...so no big block torque. Plus, I have a friend from high school who couldn't keep motor...
  18. What's in your garage under restoration?

The Cutlass is really not that heavy. It's not any heavier than my 2012 Kia Optima SX...and that car runs 14.9's all day long with 274hp/269tq. I believe the engine builder...he's done more than one of these. With more gear and less weight, he has a customer with a 1970 W-31 that runs...
  19. What's in your garage under restoration?

Mine got a pro-built 350 (355 actually) running about 425hp/400tq through a built TH350 to a 3.55-geared 12-bolt rear. Engine builder says it ought to run low 13's and still be street driveable. But if it hits those numbers, I'll get one pass before they throw me out for not having a roll bar...
  20. What's in your garage under restoration?

This is the look I am going for: Yes...I know that is not correct for a 1969. But it fits and I don't care about factory correctness...
