There's a movie called Shoot 'Em Up...has Clive Owen as the main character. First time I saw it, I thought wow, this is a truly terrible gun movie, full of overplayed cliches and completely unbelievable. Then I realized that it was actually a parody and my appreciation for the movie completely...
I just went in with the attitude that it wasn't really an adaptation of the book, but rather just some random zombie movie. And I agree...the gore was definitely kept at a minimum. I thought they did a good job with the suspense and creepiness, however.
I get why they'd want to do it...it sounds good in theory. Problem is I think it backfires big time in real life. Used games are a HUUUUGE part of the video game industry and if gamers don't have that option, I just don't see how the market can sustain itself. Many new games sales are made...
I'm calling BS on that. If it's true, look for the home video game industry to collapse on a scale that will make the '83 Crash look like a minor market correction...
