  1. Arsenal SLR-104UR

I was thinking of doing the alg trigger group also. Just tired of messing with it for now.
  2. Arsenal SLR-104UR

Trigger slap is generally not related to whether it is over gassed or not. One of my 9mm AKs has bad trigger slap but I attribute that to the trigger group. Wish there were still Tapco trigger groups being sold.
  3. With the lack of ammo this lost art could be useful. Cut Shells

I've done it a lot. Figured out it was a waste of time. Temp. has a huge effect on performance. Might hit like a slug, might not depending on temp. If they get too warm, the shells can distort making them unable to chamber.
  4. To 80% or not to 80%?

I've built my fair share of AKs. Have several dozen how to videos on YouTube showing the process. If you know about bending flats you know the work involved. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE do an AK build right now due to cost of parts.
  5. POLL: How much should 1 round of 115grn 9mm FMJ brass cased new mfg cost?

What ever an idiot is willing to pay is what it's worth. Simple truth.
  6. RK show this weekend Atlanta expo center...Who all is going?!!

No haha, honest to God, I was half expecting to hear one though!
  7. RK show this weekend Atlanta expo center...Who all is going?!!

The prices were crazy at the gun show I thought. I was able to sell a couple cases of Romanian 8 mm to a dealer I know there. I saw a Tac 14, and Mossberg Shockwave for $999 each. Ridiculous pricing on some stuff. I didn't think it was a bad crowd, mainly a seller's market due to the number of...
  8. RK show this weekend Atlanta expo center...Who all is going?!!

I'm going to go, but don't expect to see any deals though. I'm going to bring 2 or 3 cases of Romanian 8 mm Surplus and see if I can't sell it.
  9. AK ammo question 7.62 x 39 and 7.62 x 25

Straight answer is "no". 7.62x39 rounds are too large in dia. for the extractor on the bolt to hold the case. When I built my 7.62x25 AK, I used a 7.62x39 kit and had to make a sleeve that I tig welded into the recess on the bolt head. Now they will fit perfectly into a 5.45x39 bolt but of...
  10. Need Gunsmith Recommendations for AK Repair

Guess somebody pressed the rivets in against the barrel. Century Arms underfolders, and rifles made by Pioneer imported by inter Ordnance are done the same way. Len Savage in Franklin Georgia could do it. You'll have to contact him though to see if he will. I could also do it but I'm not in...
  11. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

No but it would give shooters another option, with lower range time costs.
  12. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

I'm currently working on a youtube video that is more of a proof of concept video. Aiming at ARs in 7.62x39 I plan to show feasibility of having 7.62x39 AR with a pistol length gas system. It would give people the capability of shooting full power or subsonic ammo. All at a much lower cost...
  13. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

I understand the basics, getting the right amount of pressure to the piston for the right amount of time is critical. The adjustable gasblock mentioned would fix a lot of the problem by allowing the gas port to be enlarged more than .128.
  14. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

I'll have to look that up, I've done a lot of work on AKs but nobody has ever asked me to install one of those.
  15. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

Yea, I could use it, I appreciate the offer. I'm in Heard county, we'll have to meet up so I can get it off you.
  16. Brown Bear subsonic 7.62x39mm now available

I've been shooting subsonic 7.62 x39 in my ks47 for the last year-and-a-half. I reload with jacketed 200 grain Lapua, and Lead 220 grain projectiles, functioning is flawless in the lightweight BCG of the AR. Really don't know what you have to do to get it to cycle in an AK the carrier is just...
  17. Norinco 1911

Paid $179 for mine new. I could have bought it or a Norinco Uzi for the same price. At the time, I wound up putting $500 worth of parts into the 1911.
  18. Lets see those twins!

RamRoddoc thought you guys would like seeing these. I built them using ak74 Parts kits, custom receivers bent from flats and 2XTM Soumi magwell adapters. You can use either mags or drums, but the dang drums are finicky being World War II surplus.
  19. AK questions

They did in fact use the barrel as the bucking bar, which shows quite a large level of incompetence. Pioneer does the same thing and coincidentally a lot of Pioneers AKs were chopped up and sold as kits.
