    That is why Kahr says to use the slide stop. Most people ride the slide a bit without knowing it, then wonder why it wont work. SO pull back until you pull your fingers off the slide and it will go forward with enough force to chamber a round.

See it ain't hard to find ammo for a flintlock... the powder can be found right out in the yard and so can the projectiles.. while everyone else must go to some store or order it online I can walk out...
