Thanks. The mount itself is steel. Just the base is aluminum. The reticle moves. The glass is very clear. Thanks for the help. I'm not looking to get rich off of it. Would mostly like to see it go to someone who would appreciate it.
This is not a reproduction. I bought it at least a year before they started making the repros. Got it from Copes dist.. I'm pretty sure they ripped me off on the base mount. It seems to be aluminum. I'm not sure if that is normal. I thought they were steel.
The crack closes right up. You wouldn't notice it from the outside if glued by a wood savvy fella. It needs a home. I'm tired of hoarding stuff someone else might appreciate.
I don't know much about this. It has some hardware and a crack. Not trying to get rich off of it. If it has no value I'll give it to my buddy to make knife handles. If I sell it. How should I post it?
What! Scope rail built in. I.....think.....I......want one. Too bad my wife and children have a food and shelter habit I haven't seemed to be able to break.
I think it has a little to do with ammo availability/price. Milsurp was so much more fun when you could buy the cheap ammo to match it. Still love my garand but about a dollar a trigger pull makes me a hoarder.
The explanation you just made with the list of what it is and why is exactly what you need. Also maybe add a pic or 2 with the reciever removed from the stock and pics of the guts so it doesn't look new.
I don't know alot about those but just looking at it I get the impression it is a counterfeit because of the excellent condition. Maybe you need to show some proof/explaination as to it being an original sniper. I'm not knocking your ad or rifle in any way. Just my honest, novices judgement...
I have an old full sized brno mauser(not a vz 58). I didn't get it from classic. I've had it for quite a while. I would be greatful if one of you guys can tell me more about it.
Sorry. Just a disclaimer not a gunsmith here. Just a guy with ideas. Someone might know better than me. Just my experience that the onlu thing I could get to stick in my cosmoline soaked stock was screws.
Drill it small and use brass screws not flush or counter sunk. Then grind the head off. Then it will look like the brass pin repairs seen on alot of mosins except you wont have to worry about them working out.
