    What about a metal one. It would be a lot cheaper, put up in one day and easy to sell or dispose of when you replace it in 3 years. I’m looking to have one built in Jasper but HOA won’t let me build a metal one.

    @palmettomoon Just yesterday we used SkyBryte OSPHO Rust Inhibiting Coating from Sherwin Williams yesterday. Metal posts were rusting. Paint or apply it with a spray bottle then come back in a little while after it dries and apply a metal paint product.

    I'm re-doing my deck boards and replacing the posts and railings. Is there a reason not to install the posts and cut the decking around the posts versus notching the posts and putting them on top of the decking? I've seen to done both ways and would rather put them on top but don't want to...
