  1. One of the stupidest things I've seen lately

Had an older Dad whose family lost everything in the Flood of 27 in Greenville, MS. He was 16 with 3rd grade education in start of depression. He was the smartest man I have ever met. He was commercal fisherman, farmer and carpenter. He could catch, grow or build anything and everything...

  3. One of the stupidest things I've seen lately

Similar story with the phone company. Started at the bottom in 70's fresh off the farm. Dumb kid but good work ethic. Worked nights and college during day. Then flipped to day work and college at night. Ole Miss and GA State KSU...BBA MBA all paid for by Bell/ATT. Short version fought my way...

    That's what UAW says.
  5. How do you say this word? "Pecan"

Maybe Larry Mcmurty too as he sort of took the hauling a coffin idea from Faulkner just in a different setting. Lonesome Dove is still one of my all time favourites. Amongst Ga Al MS there are some great writers.
  6. How do you say this word? "Pecan"

My grandmother's name was Addie and lived and died in Jefferson, MS. My life resembles much of As I Lay Dying. I bounce between Faulkner and Hemingway but lean toward WF as a sheer genius in his ability.

My aunt made the best puh-con pie in the world. And always had tasty fresh sliced da-mate-ers otherwise known as tomatoes. I went to school in Oxford so i know what I'm talking about. Try reading Faulkner.....painful for even us natives.
  9. So true

  10. Nobody drinking tonight?

Sorry to hear man. Had it 3 years ago. Be thankful for the stint. Otherwise it would feel like pissing fire while all the bits and pieces are expelled. It does get better so hang in there.
  11. Back when TV didn't totally suck...with a few exceptions.

    Who didn't dream of Jeannie?
  12. Back when TV didn't totally suck...with a few exceptions.

Screenpix channel has some good westerns. Started watching Tombstone the series. Supposedly based on true stories. Big fan of the oldies Rifleman, Gunsmoke, Palladin, etc.etc.
  13. While browsing this website and reading posts I am often reminded of this signature line.

Orwell would probably concur. I would too.

    BLM....broken limbs matter.
  15. A priest A rabbit and a Minister

    A rare bit of humor.
  16. By law, mail sent through the UPS is presumed to have been received by the recipent.

The idea of mass mailout of ballots is disturbing on so many levels. The above a good start.
  17. By law, mail sent through the UPS is presumed to have been received by the recipent.

Nothing keeping anyone from absentee. Been doing it for years just because it's easier than standing in line. Anyone can request now and not get "suppressed". Otherwise shut the f..k up if you really wanted to vote and didn't.
