Well..
I found out what’s going on.
Wrote an email to CMMG. Asked if they carry a small collar. They said they don’t.
They recommend just sanding or filing .003” off the brass collar.
Not too hard, but they say it’s an issue with PSA, Springfield and Radical. They say those places make...
I may just work some dremel magic on those lugs.
I checked PSA's BS return. I suspect they won't do nothing.
Really disappointed though. No excuse for stuff that far out of spec.
I test-fit the conversion in another upper, and it works just fine.
After a more-careful look, I can see that the clearance into the throat of the chamber is wrong. The diameter between the lug channels is about 5 thousandths or so too narrow.
Never had trouble with PSA before, but this...
I have a CMMG kit which I have used in a couple different ARs.
Got one I'm trying to us it in now, and the damned thing won't fit. Stays about 1/8" too far aft. Looks like the lugs of the barrel are a bit different from what I'm used to seeing.
Anyone seen this?
AKs are total cake.....
Other than the pins and the trunion (which require special tools,) they are super easy to work on....
Any monkey can fix one. They do it every day. Youtube is your friend. Watch at least 3 videos of anything you intend to do, and you can do it just as well as any...
Thanks again for this thread!
I tried filing down the right side of the mag for my G19 conversion. I could actually see where the slide had been dragging.
(Knock on wood.) So far-it is like a whole new gun! I am very excited to have this thing functioning properly!
Thanks for the great...
Thanks for the info!
I will definitely try that if I can get my kit to cycle more than times in a row!
(Of course, I have only been able to try a couple different types of ammo, so that is probably the issue.)
Here ya go:
The top one has a little "nipple" sticking out to make it easier for your thumb to grab hold of.
I very much prefer the "extended" release. Glock will change it out for you at no charge.
Yep-
This was my thought.
If that gas tube fitting is aftermarket and uses some kind of screws (rather than the pins the gun was designed for,) those screws can really move once the barrel heats up and expands/contracts a little.
In had a similar prob with my LC9.
It was making very shallow primer strikes, so I looked around to see what could cause the problem. Somewhere I found some talk about stuff being in the firing pin channel and causing short strikes. So, I took it all apart, and found a bunch of cosmoline all...
That is pretty nasty.
I would at least replace the barrel, and maybe get the bolt and receiver checked real good for cracks.
I would suspect a barrel obstruction. I can't imagine what else would have done something like that...... Any chance someone put a bunch of oil or grease down the...
In think Kimbers were great when they first came out, but I sure have read about a loot of unhappy campers when it comes to them lately.
In my book, the best .45 is a G21. Smooooth.
I think the extractor was my only real problem.
The Mark II has seen very little use, and it looks great. Just kinda cheese me off that the factory part was crap, but seems like that is the way of the world these days.
Yep-
One thing I forgot to add is that this extractor works for the 10/22 as well (you can use the spring in the box on the 10/22.) You just use only the extractor for the Mark II-and keep the same spring from the pistol.
I was having horrible FTF and FTE troubles on a Ruger Mark II I picked up used. I am talking this sucker wouldn't feed 4 rounds of federal Champions without messing up.
I did a little web surfing and came across some people who said that the extractor can cause all sorts of issues like this...
I took it apart and cleaned it again and such...
Seems to have done something. It seems to function fine-after about 100 more rounds, no real troubles. Before this takedown, I couldn't get 5 shots to go right. Seems to have tightened up on the groups too. (Knock on wood.) I am feeding it...
