My suppressor is not going on easily as it did before. I cleaned the threads but still the same. I do not see damaged threads on the barrel end or on the suppressor end. Should I use a 1/2-28 thread chaser or 1/2-28 tap and die?
If either, where can I get them?
Anyone ever create a longer AK stock from another stock? I think I have a stock from a Remington 700, and would like to craft it to fit an AK47. I don't care about the originality or the stock appearance, but just want something that fits nice and for the taller members of my family.
What is...
I get what you're saying, but if you look just past the heat shield you'll see the base of the barrel and the slight gap which is illustrated by the shininess of where the oil is.
Not sure what you mean? I moved the handguard down so I can slide the barrel back on without any interference, if that's what you are referring to? Followed many of the multiple instructions on YouTube.
Took the barrel off a Mossberg 500 to clean it. I don't remember how it came off with regards to how close the barrel was into the receiver. So after reinstalling multiple times to see if I can close this gap, I cannot close the gap.
I looked inside the receiver and it looks like the bottom of...
OK, I am not yelling, but copied the title from the Wilson Combat site. I have one of these on a SA, and have to say, it is a sheer pain in the arse putting the spring in. What is the purpose other than the clean look at the front? Or am I totally missing something?
Sure did. Doesn't seem to grab, maybe 1/2 thread in. Will look at closer after work today and let everyone know if there is some type of bur or similar stopping it.
OK, thanks. I think I got that exact size from ACE: 12-28. So, what is the best way to "turn" down to .210, if I don't have a lathe or anything sophisticated?
In the pic where the bolt looks like it is in the receiver ( but it is not threaded), if I take the bolt out, and thread it through the other side (as if it were going backwards), it goes in easily. Maybe the 1st thread or 2 on the receiver is nicked? Hard to see.
Took the lever out to clean the gun. No issues unscrewing whatsover. Now the bolt won't thread back in. It goes in the other way easy, but the threads on the bolt are not long enough to chase the threads, if there is a nick in the threads in the receiver threads.
So, if I get a long enough...
Where is a good place to get these parts for a Colt Agent/Detective Special?
Gunsmith says Jack First parts were not 100% up to specs. Used may be an option but a crap shoot.
This is what I need in particular:
Rebound lever, hand, and cylinder bolt.
Looking for someone to work on an 80's Colt revolver. Am in NE GA, but Western NC and NW SC will work as well.
Don't know if Hogleg Smith is still in business.
