I'm already back in from this morning have to get ready for work sadly or I would have stayed out till lunch or so.
Had a Spike walk out at about 0740 he bedded down about 100M in front of me at 0800 stayed there looking around till he got up at 0940 then proceeded to walk towards me to about 30M.
I waited till he got in the thick brush so he couldn't see me leave. Cute little bugger, had about 7-8" long spikes.
Had my old trusty with me should a sizable one pop out but alas I must go to work.

Super cold in Floyd county. No deer. Lots of birds. I wondering how blue jays would taste. Few shots. Real quiet. Kinda strange
Going to be able to go for the first time this year this afternoon. Hoping to take one at long range. I'll have up to a 500 yard shot where I'll be.
nothings walked through the living room yet......i'll give it just a bit longer and try a new spot.
Cold here in Oglethorpe county. Didn't see any deer but watched a beautiful black Fox squirrel for awhile. Going back out this afternoon with my son. He stayed in the bed this morning.
Wasn't in the stand this morning but did have a doe walk out across the rifle range in front of 4 active shooters. She never even flinched!
Heard a few right at first light running in circles in opposite ridge over.
Sounded like a buck chasing a doe.
Gave a bleat then a grunt call and heard them coming closer.
I watched for movement for an hour but never saw any deer.
Heard a few 100 pound squirrels and yes I agree that blue jays must die.... Damn they are stressful ass birds.
Used a practice arrow to scare a squirrel that annoyed me to no end right when I decided to leave the woods.
I could have stayed longer but the birds were not leaving it seemed and I had enough.

Had this fellow show up about 10 am....Not the biggest 8 point I've ever taken but he's not nearly the smallest either....not too bad for opening day...taken in Chattooga County
