No deer down today but it was a good day nonetheless. Around 8:30 a doe and fawn came in sight and walked around for about 20 mins. Around 30 mins after they left I heard something coming over the hill so I pulled up my rifle to be ready..... and it was another bunch of does. Nine in one group! Most I've ever seen in one group while hunting and first time I've seen deer on opening day of gun season.

I didn't put the rangefinder on her and estimated 300 yards, so hit a little high and spined her. If you look close you can see it, but it wasn't as high as it looks in the pic. And no, not the 338. LOL! My 308 with 180 grain Nosler Accubonds.

Seen this doe in Crawfordville this mornin. Made me so mad! I've never seen a deer on opening day, ever. Of course I see one when they change the rules up and can only shoot a doe on certain days! Dang squirrels were EVERYWHERE this mornin!

There are also areas where you can take a doe. Just got to hunt the right places.

Had a big, fat raccoon climb a tree about 15 yards behind me. Only deer I saw were all in fields as I drove in. Almost hit a spikey 3 pointer.
