Had a herd of six Pass by me In the dark.
Five behind me and one in front.
Sadly it was too dark to get a shot but I stayed in the stand after last light just to see if anything would come by and shined my red Cree headlamp
At the large doe that passed in front of me.
She would have been a tasty
Treat 20 minutes Sooner.

Which headlamp do you use? I've got some nice bright handheld but haven't found a good headlamp that throws a good beam.

Believe it or not, I have been buying the LED headlamps from Home Depot. I have one that has an adjustable spot/flood beam. I believe the brand is called Defiant.

It was a gift and has no markings.

Hmmm. I'll take a look at Home Depot. the ones I have just use a couple standard red LEDs and they provide some limited light but nothing like the Cree handhelds I have. I think part of the problem is having a large/deep enough reflector to get a good projection. Would make headlamp unit a little larger than the standard Walmart LEDs...

Went out again with my son yesterday evening. Squirrels and a dang armadillo, nuttin' else. I'll swing by the depot and have a look at them headlight thingamajiggies!
