Went this evening and saw 7 total, 6 does and a 3 point that looks like an older buck that needs to be culled. I got several pics of a mama doe and her two yearlings feeding on acorns right under my shooting house. They were so close I could hear the acorns crunching in their mouths! It was a fun evening, I told my wife if I was able to eat deer meat (can't because of Alpha Gal) I'd have some for the freezer for sure!

Me and my son went out together this afternoon. We went to a different property than yesterday. He killed his first one yesterday. We had a great time in the stand and about 30 mins before dark a buck started up the slope. We watched him for about 10 mins as he got closer. We talked about what to do. We decided I'd take the shot when he stepped in the shooting lane. I didnt like the angle for my son to try it. The buck stepped out quarter to us. I put one in his neck, hit heart and off side lung. He folded like a sack of rocks. The bullet was stopped just under the skin behind the off side shoulder.
A dang fine weekend of hunting with my boy. We have been so many times and didn't see anything or had no shot to take. To harvest 2 of God's creatures together is a true blessing.

Posting a day late. Harvested my first deer ever and a great one at that, IMHO.
This guy walked out of the brush along the path I took to get the the stand and paused broadside at 25 yards. Dropped on the spot!

thanks he is. It’s been 45 yrs since my first deer and I have never seen one hunting that had two main beams and 13 pts.

He's a nice one! I killed a 10pt with 3 main beams back in '09, but his 3rd beam didn't have extra points. Very cool buck, man. Once in a lifetime.
