11/23 Deer Hunt

No rain here. Forecast says after midnight. Still kinda windy. Mainly little gust. It it’s not to bad.
I like to cut the hocks off a dead buck and use them in the same general area he came from. Each deer has his own smell and other deer will recognize it as a familiar smell. They may work from other areas as well, and I'm sure they do. Deer are curious.
Just made it back to the stand for afternoon hunt and got here later than I should have. Saw 5 does together as I was driving in. Managed to sneak into my stand and watched 2 button bucks sparring, which was pretty funny.
Up a poplar tree 25-30 foot next to a privet patch
My first two .300 BLK kills. It works. Both deer went about 35 yards. Front on chest shot on one (no exit) and broadside into the shoulder on the other (complete passthrough) .
