1911 Target Sight Issues...

Good day friends... Need a little help/advise. I have an older Kimber (No I am not getting rid of it) Classic Custom Target every time I rack this 1911 the blockish sights bite my thumb. I don't have a lot of cash to invest in a lower profile sight at this time, however if I could find a used one that may be an option.

Am I just using a poor technique or is this problem for others too?

Sounds like a grip issue to me

Try the slingshot method instead of coming over the top to cycle the slide

Sounds like a grip issue, exacerbated by bad design. I may have an extra set that I have taken off you could have. They are FO sights IIRC.

Get a Glock (first before someone else says it). I own 2 Kimbers and never have had one bite me. The only 1911 that has ever bitten me is my RIA GI and the hammer pinched me in my thumb webbing. Try a different racking technique and see if that solves the issue.
