Okay so I was thinking about a 2 stroke. I understand that the premix of gas lubes the bearings in the bottom end, ect. But why don't oil rings get added to the piston. The intake moved up and exhaust port moved up or redesigned so the still work by getting covered by the piston and then have oil in the bottom end. So why not rearrange and have the premix(which would be changed to straight gas) go straight into the cylinder and not pass through the bottom end and then just have oil in the bottom end and have oil scraper rings? I'm sure there is a good reason but I'm not a expert so that's why I'm asking. Thanks!

The charge travels through the crankcase; any bottom end oil would either contaminate the charge or get washed away into the cylinder.
