2001 Tahoe motor/transmission in 64 pickup??

I disagree. There are so many aftermarket kits these days that include high pressure fuel pumps and complete conversion harnesses that it would not take as much effort as one would imagine if you are mechanically inclined.

Building a SBC to the same power as a stock 5.3 would never be as cheap as just buying a 5.3/4l60E take out with harness and ECM.

Hell, you can find 6.0 completed packages for around $2K if you shop smart and that is WITH an accessory drive.

**** man you disagree with everything i say. but thats ok because you own like 20 or so
screwdrivers or something

:very_drunk: I do have quite the screw driver selection, but not disagreeing trying to be difficult, just posting my opinion which isn't worth much of anything.

just razzing ya a bit. OP said he isnt a mechanic so i would go the
simplest route. having owned a couple c10's in the past and with
gas cheap again i would build a motor with a cam swap and a
nice carb with exhaust, etc., i like the old stuff because it doesnt have
all the new age barf clogging up the engine bay...save that bologne
for the 2 thousand umpteen all looks the same plastico crapola

*just pulling the drivetrain out of that tahoe makes it not worth it- imho

We just swapped in a 5.3 from a 02 into a 76 K-10

You got something else to drive while you do the swap ?

THe harness isn't that hard
Especially if you just leave the unused wired buried in the harness

You will need an Intank pump
Some people use 87-91 K-5 blazer tanks behind the axle and some people use mustang tanks

Sent our computer to
"Team208motorsports"
To get it reflashed
You have to remove the anti theft stuff and the rear oxy sensors from the computer

Gonna cost about $1500-1800 in Nickel and dime stuff to do the swap

We swapped in a five speed manual Trans while we were at it
