2024 garden thread

Potted some tumeric, ginger roots and sweet corn seeds as starters. Should have shootes in 2-3wks
These ended up never sprouting. Pulled them and replanted under compost in the yard at the start of may

Wildflowers are doing well

I pulled them all before flowering. I would think they would be like garlic where you want to cut the flower early. You get bigger garlic when the plant doesn’t waste energy producing a flower.
I harvested mine just as they started to flower. A couple of them I pulled the buds off immediately as they formed, and a couple I let go. The big guy was one that I allowed to flower, surprisingly. Planning to make a creamy paste with them to put on some baked potatoes. Whatever is leftover will be thinly sliced and air fried for some spicy (hopefully) and salty homemade chips

Here we go! Tried the wasabi radishes out. Twice baked potatoes with minced radish garnish and air fryer chips. I love these things- solid earthy horseradish flavor with a bit of kick. Definitely going to make them a staple going forward

Great. Now I have yet another thing I want to grow. As if my list wasn't long enough.
