22 ARC vs. 6 ARC vs. 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.8 SPC ll

I’ve hunted with the 6.5 Grendel and the 22arc so far and both do pretty well. My buddy ran a 6.8 but now mainly uses his 6.5 Grendel. It mainly boiled down to his 6.5 was easier to tune. Maybe we’ll get better bullet options with the 6.8x51 and 25 Creedmoor coming in style.

How long was the barrel on the 6.8 SPC. I have built 6.8's from 20 all the way down to 14 and non have exhibited problems with tuning. Now if the barrel is shorter then 14 then I wouldn't know. I just don't like making pistols in the AR platform. It just seems like a waste of decent rifle round. But what do I know. To each his own..

Both of his are 20” barrels. His 6.8 never got better than 1.5moa even with handloads. His 6.5g shoots .75 with almost anything. I think his 6gt got him spoiled on small groups but it’s a different platform.

I agree with you there, the longer barrels can completely change the performance.

That's been the main issue with 6.5G, it can't maintain velocities at distance to make the typical 6.5 expanding bullet open up properly. Hopefully there will be some 6.5G specific bullets developed with softer lead and/or thinner jackets.

Imagine being so insecure in your masculinity that you can't even stand shooting new rifle cartridges because it causes you to doubt your manhood.
There is no need to project your insecurity and low testosterone through feminist fueled insults.

I killed more deer with a .243 than any other cartridge. Then I found out about the 6.8 SPC and and have been using it ever since. It will do anything I need it to do easily to 300 yards and even further if I had to push it but I have never seen the need. I have not hunted with anything else for the last 15 years I guess.
what rifle do you have the 6.8 SPC in?
