.223 ammo for deer

I still stand by the Barnes TTSX round. No bullet separation to worry about ruining meat. They mushroom perfectly every time with 99.9 percent bullet retention. No meat to ruin due to bullet seperation that can happen with some soft point type projectiles.

Is that an OTC round or roll your own?

I have carried my AR hunting but never had a shot.

Gonna try these this year.

As long as they say inter lock or core lock they should be good to go. The two metals are bonded on an atomic level so they don't separate after impact. Where hunters go wrong is using a soft point that is not core locked. The jacket can separate from the core and this leads massive tissue damage.
