Does anyone have a favorite powder for .280 Remington loads? I have been collecting a lot of data but have yet to load a round for it. I realize that there are plenty of resources for this information and I am recording all I can find in a spreadsheet but I wanted to ask this group if there was one powder that worked better for you than another. Yes, I know it's all "relative" but I prefer not to start from scratch with min/max data. I am trying to work up at least 3 rounds in various combinations to see if I can duplicate the <1" 100yd group I get from the factory Winchester BST's in 140. My 700 Mountain Rifle likes those rounds, just can't find the darned things anymore.

I have the following on hand:
Bullets: Nosler (Combined Technologies) 140 BST (same as the factory rounds), Nosler Ballistic Tips in 120 and 150, and some Hornady Ballistic tips in 154.
Powder: Hodgdon 4831SC, Accurate 4350, and Vihtavuori N165.

I have been loading and shooting 280 for about 20 years. The best powders for accuracy and velocity are imr4831 and imr4350. My mountain rifle shoots 140 and 150 gn ballistic tips and 139 hornady's under an inch. Best is near max loads of imr4831 with cci mag primers with 150 gn ballistic tips for about 3000 fps

My 270 really likes the 140gr Accubonds.

Nosler offers those in 140 and 160 for 7mm.

You might be Surprised at what your rifle will do with those. Give them a shot.
