30 carbine help

Howdy. Can y’all look in your load books and tell me max load of 2400 for 85 grn.jacketed for 30 carbine. Thanks

Be careful chasing max loads in the carbine. I have one in three pieces from that search many years ago, live and learn. That said in looking thru my 30 plus loading manuals the lightest bullet found was for a 93 gr. jacketed in several of my old lyman/ideal manuals that called for something around 13 gr of 2400. Varied from a low of 12.5 to a high of 13.9, with no mention of either being a starting or max load. Please use this information with caution. The manuals mentioned are at least 60 years old.

93gr is the best i can do as well -- also an old manual - lyman 45th edition
2400 13.0g = 1823fps and max 2400 15.0g = 2123fps -- the 15gr is a compressed charge -

I would be satisfied with about 13 g myself -- Your weapon, your choice --
