Good point. Not seeing those Gen 2's in for any less than the price you found. There are places out there that are a bit cheaper, but once you factor in shipping, it's a wash.

Yeah not a gen II.

The gen II's got their feeding issues resolved, a better trigger, some say the barrels are better. Better magazines from what i understand as well.

Aside from a academy, I couldn't find one anywhere locally. A cheap transfer now is $50 and shipping is usually $40. Almost makes online buying in general a wash.

I've got the itch to put together a 300 blackout pinker. I've got a gift card to academy I want to use. Looks like they have ruger American, Savage, and mossberg flavors. Of the 3, which one is the one to have? It's going to be run suppressed with subsonic ammo but I'd like it to be reasonably reliable.

Since you have the GC for academy and that's all they offer, go with the Ruger. If you can trade toward a CZ 527, I'd go that route. The winchester XP 150gr is an awesome round for deer, if you plan on hunting with it.
