I'm going to keep this thread going with another question.
I'm 90% sure I want the ruger american ranch, is the Howa mini worth the extra $$? Is it a better gun?
Like previously stated this will be a 90% range plinking toy and 10% whitetail hunting rifle.

I have the original Ruger American in 300BLK. Great rifle. Super accurate. I load 125 grain SPs over H110 or surplus WC820 for about 2350fps. Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20.
Prefer it to the Gen II because of the flush magazine. It's a hunting rifle for me, not a tactical plinker. I don't think there is an easier rifle to carry in the woods.

Apparently Howa has discontinued the mini in 300blk so it looks like it’s going to be the Ruger Gen II.

I just pulled the trigger on the GEN II Ruger american.
Found one $10 cheaper than academy at a local mom and pop store in Dallas.
You’ll get more mileage out of the Mom & Pop store.
