.308 Long Range/Hunting Bullet choice

Either the 168 or 175 grain Sierra Match Kings would be my 1st choice. I have also used Hornady A-Max's with great results.

SMKs aren't the best for hunting animals. Their hollowpoint design is for long range aerodynamics more than expansion and retention in an animal. Varmints do well with these due to size, but an elk, moose, etc might not respond as well. That being said, for just target shooting you can't beat the SMKs.
