.308 Win Reduced Power

Yeah, I thought most .300 BLK barrels are 1 in 8" and I know they stabilize a 220gr, I thought I may have to go a little lighter on the 1 in 10".

Here is a post outlining my TrailBoss experiment with my 243.
Summery:
15.1 grains powder, 55 grain bullet, gave 2400FPS.
It was accurate out to 100yards but not far beyond.

I think almost any bullet will be accurate to some distance. You will just have to see if it is far enough for your intended use.

My 375Winchester is my subsonic gun with good results. I use Trail Boss and a 260 Grain Lead Gas Checked Bullet at 1050FPS. The Gas Check really cuts down on lead in the barrel. I don't get any leading after 100's of shots. My standard load is based on the same bullet at 1500FPS--still no lead.

I think the Trail Boss may be able to push a 150 grain 308 up close to 1700, but I would be tempted to try 800X, Blue Dot, or 2400.

I used Trail Boss to push a 178 grain AMax in my 308 to about 1050FPS. I think it was 10 to 11 grains of powder-- it has been a while.

If my 243 could hold 15.1 grains uncompressed, I imagine your 308 may also.

Tried about 20 out at the range today and they don't have enough pop to cycle the 716, even on the adverse gas setting. These were full cases and would not eject, so I think it's probably best to look for another powder.

Next up IMR 4759!
