40 s&w grain question.help odt

I need help choosing a grain for SD in 40 s&w the only choice I got right now is whats I already have im on a budget.there both hp one is 165g at 1180fps and the other is 180g at 945fps which one should I go with.thanks

Go with the 165 grain.

LAPD has determined that the heavy grain tends to over penetrate.

I like the 165 grain in my Sigs.

You might consider alternating the rounds when you load your mags. I do this with fmj & jhp's some, especially in the winter, when you might need extra penetration through heavy winter cloths. just my .02cents
