My dad found some old ammo in his basement and gave it to me today. It says .45Auto Western. Wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on this round. Looks like it should chamber and function in any .45 Auto chambered firearm. But looked different then most ammo i see. Thanks

If memory serves me (I have sometimers disease) but Western is a branch of Winchester ammunition and that looks like a 185 grain Copper jacketed Semi-Wadcutter bullet. Typically a target loading.

You can use it in any .45 ACP.

That is correct. They used to market it as Winchester/Western.

I am not sure that Western wasn't the ammo brand of Winchester Repeating Arms.
