Can someone school me on this round ? What is it good for what can you do with it what else compares to it ?

I have heard of them, but don’t think I have ever seen one. In for info too.
My brother in law has a bolt action one from his dad. The ammo is high priced since it only is being made by Aquila now. SGAmmo had it recently and may still at somewhere around $25 a 50 round box.
Check out rimfirecentral.com. There are several threads in the “Other rimfire”and “Ammunition” forums about the rifles and ammo. Pretty good info there.

I honestly don’t know. I read in one of the threads in the “other rimfire “ forum on rimfirecentral that Thompson Center makes a 5 mm barrel for their single shot break barrel guns. But other than that I think the older Remingtons are it.
WELL..................Guess I'll just stay with my 22mags.....
Me too, ammo is expensive enough for them but nothing compared to that 5mm stuff. $25.00+ per box of 50 seems a bit steep for rimfire.
