In a pistol only half the powder burned and it still ripped out of his hand. Good thing or it would have broken something... NOT ME!!!

I don't believe I would have done that.

By the way, I think a sawed-off single-barrel 12 gauge shotgun, the kind a lot of hoodlums pack to shoot other hoodrats with, would have a crazy amount of recoil with slugs or 3" magnum buckshot loads.
A gun like that, with no butt stock and only a 10" barrel, might weigh only 3 or 4 lbs.
A 12 gauge 00 buckshot load that has 12 pellets (each weighing 54 grains) throws over 600 grains of projectiles at the target (1.5 ounces).
600 grains is more "bullet weight" than most elephant rifle rounds like the .500 Nitro or .458 Win mag or .460 Weatherby Mag.
And 600 grains weight at 1300 f.p.s. velocity equals a lot of energy too. (2300 ft/ lbs.)
