512 Year Old Shark

That shark was born the same year as Bernie Sanders!
Which means it really is the oldest vertebrate.
Figured I'd be clicking on a pic of Elizabeth Warren or Hitlery. 
Not long ago a sea turtle died. Maybe 2007 or so?
It had been caught in the 1730's by British Royal Navy sailors as they were searching for wanted pirates.

How do they know that? And how do they know this shark is over 200 yrs. old. It looks like it's all pure conjecture based on retina size.? I wanna believe but this seems hokey imo.
