556/223 ammo average price?

Interesting write up.
Would have enjoyed a takedown and inspection of the chamber with some before and after wear measurements.
That has always been why I haven't shot steel cased out of my AR's.
Now my AK's get a regular diet of steel cased ammo and love it.
I cannot remember a FTF or jam in over 4000 rounds with the Wolf I have used.

As to the indoor ranges that won't allow steel case, I am sure it is for the brass recycling reasons cited above.
I have personally seen plain FMJ lead bullets slice through steel like butter at 100 yards, so I wouldn't go with that reason.
Anything out of a full-on rifle (not just a 22LR) will muck up your range equipment.

I talked to hi caliber wild west and firing lane and sandy springs none allow them

I just called Sandy Springs Shooting Range at 8040 Roswell Rd. They said they take any ammo up to .50 cal. When I specifically asked about surplus/Russian ammo they said no restrictions. No restrictions.

Not trying to call you out, No2sc2, but maybe I confused your Sandy Springs location with the SSSR on Roswell. I've shot there before and they've never mentioned having ammo type restrictions. I do know they use a recycled tire rubber back stop.

Not trying to be an a$$ or anything, just want folks to know whats what.

I called http://www.sandyspringsshootingrange.com/

They guy answered and I asked him about the steel core ammo like tulammo and he said they don't allow that because of insurance.

I have no reason to lie, just Repeating what they said. Who knows they must resell because he did mention something about a magnetic but he kind of mumbled the last part and just said they don't allow it. I don't care I just want to buy cheaper ammo to shoot but if ranges don't allow it I guess I have to buy the $350 cases.

I will pick up a case of the MFS, those have the zinc coating so most shooting ranges won't know what they are, they will assume they are nickled or "steeL' match

Sources tell me that prices are going up next month another 15-20%. He's always been right on the money with his info so far. I hope he's wrong this time! Lol.
