556 ammo suggestions

the steel core "may spark" and cause a fire is one thing I have heard and read. I do not know 100%

It will also put little craters in your AR500 plate that can lead to ricochets later. I had a friend crater up one of mine for me.

I'm surprised at the number of people recommending M855; I've never seen it shoot worth a toot out of any rifle. I usually recommend the Federal, IMI, or PMC.

Depends on your Barrel and twist rate. M855 shoots better than the m193 for me, but I’m running a 1:8 twist. It’s better suited for 1:7 or 1:8 barrels. 855 is a 62gr bullet vs 55gr for the 193. For blasting at the range, either is fine. If you’re shooting a precision match, I’d go with something else, but if your shooting a couple hundred rounds per range trip and burning 1000rds a month, match ammo is way too expensive.

Copy that, thank you

all of that Greg said is true regarding the M855 round, but on a short barrel pistol I would go with a lighter round for better accuracy. You simply don't have the barrel length to stabilize the heavier bullet.
I would recommend a good mil spec M193 55 grain round.
