6.8SPC - either SAAMI or SPEC2 really isn't intended for subsonic. There are people out there who futz around making subsonic ammo, but it looks like companies such as This (Bison Armory) build brand new barrels with 1:7 twist for 6.8SPC shooters to scratch that itch and still have bullets stabilize.
Did you use cast bullets? I remember reading about Paco Kelly's "cat sneeze loads" . He mostly used cast, heavy for caliber bullets and tiny charges of fast burning powders like bullseye.
Just 55gr Hornady FMJ and some Tight Group, it was nearly hearing safe but wouldn’t cycle the bolt.
I want to say I tinkered with 5 ladder loads to dial in the one that seemed to work best. It was fun but definitely defeated the rounds capabilities to nearly non lethal lol
