6mm ARC AR15

That chart shows some of the difference. 6mm ARC was designed to take advantage of the higher BC 6mm projectiles like the 108ELDM. 6mm MAX apparently has issues with the "longer" 6mm projectiles (like the 108ELDM) and seems physically constrained to 80-100 grain projectiles (yes it will shoot the 55s and others). Note the twist - that is why ARC uses 7.5 twist and MAX uses 8 twist.

It is a moot point until 6mm MAX barrels, ammo, brass, etc. becomes commonly available. Again, each is a niche cartridge and the 6mm ARC may be the "best" at a wider range of applications. 6mm MAX may dominate the Quantified Performance type competition.

And I like charts, so would be fun to see a side-by-side comparison of these 4…
108gr 6arc with 18” barrel (gas gun)
168gr 308 with 18” barrel (gas gun)
175gr 308 with 18” barrel (gas gun)
77gr 5.56 with 18” barrel (gas gun)

And now yall got me wanting to add 6.8spc and 22arc and 6max to the chart.
Hornady and others offer free ballistic apps that will let you play with those.

Shot PRS match Saturday with one of the top "Gas Gun" competitors. He was running a full custom large frame AR in 6 GT. Just FYI as another data point.
I’d look at the gay tiger if I were looking at a 6mm bolt gun. Have a friend that runs a dasher but the GT sounds good as well.
