I am thinking about cutting down an old savage in 7mm rem mag and having it threaded for a suppressor. I would like to cut it from 24 to 20 inches. My question is does anyone know if I could use a faster burning powder to try to help with accuracy and pressure? I know if I use my normal powder (rl22) I’m going to get a lot of unburnt powder going off inside my suppressor. I’m looking at rl17 for a powder. I know other calibers are better suited for this but I load this one and want a shorter, flat shooting white tail rifle.

I have a pretty successfully accurate load for 162 ELDM/SST and 175 LRAB with IMR4350. Barrel is 24" but I see no sign of unburnt powder. May be a decent starting powder that is a touch quicker than RL22.
