I believe you should take whatever you feel comfortable with anytime you're out of the house. Everybody is different. As long as you are willing to accept the risk of theft, encounters with LEO's and conduct due diligence regarding the laws of the states you're rambling through and your destination; I don't care what you travel with. It's none of my business and a personal decision.

If I owned a shotgun or modern sporting rifle, there might be times when I would travel with them. If I were to do that, I'd also ensure I had enough water, food (of some type), clothing and shelter to respond to possible scenarios that may arise.

Do your own environmental/threat assessment and act accordingly. :yo:

yes I would especially if your planning on going to the range.

I always have enough fire power/ammo to get you home
The farther you go the more you take (just in case)
I am always travelling to FL or Indiana
last time I took 6 pistols and a lot of spare mags.

Next time im planning on 2 pistols and either my AR or one if my Bolt action rifle's

I have a couple...rifle caliber pistols :becky: that I'll choose from for out of town trips. Different states have different long-gun laws regarding vehicles. The states I travel to most have pretty much the same laws regarding having a pistol in the vehicle so I'll take those most of the time.

Usually this goes with me (not mine, but mine's pretty much identical)

I carry and my girlfriend carries, both G19's and extra mags if needed. No need for a rifle for me. If we had some Mike Brown / Rodney king type riots going on it would be different.
