Some people use blue water cans for gas. They still have normal spouts, but do not have vents.
I do not know if EPA has undercover gas station police to catch folks using water cans for gas.

I switched to using the blue cans

Same can but still has a normal spout

But recently I’ve been buying the metal safety cans
They cost more but long term they are the best

They won’t crack or melt or deteriorate from sunlight or swell up like a balloon when you leave em sitting in the sun

If you take a knife and stab the top while you poring it will go easy,then throw away and buy new one.

just go some estate sales yard sales find some of those ole metal gas cans just make sure no rust in them

Mine dumps what seems like a gallon per swoosh - all over the mower or truck I’m trying to fill.

When I first saw the name of thid thread I thought it was talking about the cans with the lever over the spout. Those take some getting used to.
