a ccw...double stack for capacity or single stack for concealability?

Well that just depends, how good a shot are ya? If you can't hit the broadside of a barn then double stack and if you can shoot the wings of a fly then single slim stack, just kidding. I'm decent shot so like a little of both worlds, and I my self prefer a Glock 30, a small frame double stack, that I carry in a quality IWB holster, it goes with me were ever I go. I've toted small and large when it all boils down it is just what you comfortable with both in accuracy, size, and style of carry, IWB, OWB, Shoulder. etc. Good luck!

Then you could be the Centaur of Attention

Ha ha, how long have you waited to use that?

PM9 99% of the time, pocket carry. I figure if I need more than 7 shots to get to another hi-cap weapon I'm pretty much screwed anyway.

Also, going with the single stack would be not just concealability, but comfort. Which brings up something else to consider if you decide single stack. For example, the xds 9 weighs 23 ounces unloaded. The kahr cm9 is 14 ounces and only holds one less bullet. Both plenty shootable but why carry the extra weight for one more bullet? Same with the shield. Great gun but heavier and bigger than kahr cm9. The more I think about it, if I am gonna go over 20 ounces in a ccw, might as well go double stack. If single stack is the route, might as well go light and pocketable.

Glock 23. It does it all.

For me, it's this. Good size, good capacity, versatility(3 caliber options),known reliability, local repair(Smyrna),no maintenance. It just needs a good holster/belt. If I happen to jog(rarely, ha!) I'm actually in the process of modifying a holster (that a local maker made), to be worn like a shoulder holster and will stay put and not "sway" as much...we'll see, lol.

If it to heavy or bulky to carry, then you will not carry it... I feel fine with my Shield with 8 rounds. I reflect on the rule of 3's in a gun fight. Sure there may be times when you need more rounds but if the gun is at home because it is to heavy then all those extra rounds do not good.
