A few questions...

Dumbass questions that I don't know the simple answer to:

1) I have several DA revolvers, some with grooved trigger, some smooth. Quality seems not to be a factor. Is this just personal preference, or is there an advantage to one for a good shooter?

2) I keep seeing .224 Predator mentioned, with .224 Valkyrie seemingly gone away. Are these the same round?

3) I have an unidentified rifle that is either .308 or 30.06, and is NOT marked. I know one round will not go into battery in the other if tried. Do I need a gauge to figure it out?

3. You can do a chamber casting with some cerrosafe. Take measurements and figure out what you have.
30-06 won't chamber in a 308.

The smooth trigger is often called a combat trigger.

It matters little IMHO

Grooved or smooth triggers on a revolver, along with the width of the trigger itself, is personal preference.

Go to SAAMI.org, Technical Information tab/Cartridge and Chamber Drawings. Should tell you the difference between the 2 cartridges.
