Acquired a grail gun for me today, Russian SKS

I found this one by accident. Someone on the range let me shoot it and then traded it to me for the gun I was shooting. 1949 tula SKS. Mismatched mag, arsenal refurb, and cheese grater dust cover, but I have never seen another 49 and I don't imagine I ever will.

In late 1994 I EAS'ed from the Marine Corps. On my last day, I bought an identical Russian SKS from the PX on base for $74 out the door. Since it was purchased on base, there was no tax.

Looks to be all matching. Not perfect but in great shape. I love it.

Silver bolt and blade, no X's on the stock or anywhere else. So is this a non-rearsenaled gun? It doesn't matter to me, just curious.

What are y'alls grails? Just curious to see what others are chasing. I've been chasing a Russian SKS for about 7 or 8 years now...

Thanks man! It's in excellent shape especially to be a non-refurb but there's a couple minor imperfections that don't show up in pics. But I think it's beautiful.

Some VC owned it in Nam. Never fired only dropped once. Probably ended up in Georgia through someone Like Phil.
