I was wondering how many deer hunters out there do any after season scouting. Last week while in my stand I found an 8 pointer about 30 yards in front of my stand. Judging by the bleaching of the antlers it was killed befroe the season opened. I have had a coyote problem this year and had already planned on looking around but this just reinforced my plan. Rack had a 16 inside spread and the G2 were 9 inches. All the teeth were present and not worn at all. Appears to be a very young deer. Might try and post a picture later.

we usually find 1 a year that was shot somewhere else and made it onto our property. We have never found any good sheds after season but there are places we don't go into.

I usually trry to do some shed hunting later in the spring, but thinking about how squirrels chew on antler has me thinking about doing it early this year.
